I ran 130 rounds of this through my Beretta 1301 Tactical (fixed CYL choke) during a training class and it was flawless. The instructor seemed impressed with how tight it patterned, even out to 25 yards. Very tolerable recoil, too. Definitely worth the money!
When I take my Beretta 1301 Tactical or Mossberg 590A1 to a defensive shotgun class, I always pair them with this Federal LE133. Everyone else shooting cheap-o buck is amazed. Recoil is very similar to a 1 1/8 oz field load. Standard 18" cylinder bored shotguns keep all 8 pellets in a 12"x12" pattern out to about 22-25yds. Standard buck may not do that at 12 or even 10yds. The performance is well worth the small extra price over standard buck.
best patterning OObuck on the market n at a good price too!
Very tight patterns out of my fixed choke(I/C) Remington 1100, but about 4 out of 5 would not eject due to these shells not having enough power to reliably operate it's action.
Tried this ammo in my Mossberg SPX 930 and loved it! 2" pattern at 10yds. Potent defensive round.
The shot patterns of these shells are very tight. After seeing them in action on the PD range I bought a case from a different company and paid more. Pity the bad guy who gets hit with one of these.
Out of a KSG, shooting an unbacked paper target at 25 yards, it tore about a 2.5 inch hole thru the paper. Green/yellow box Remington was ~ 15 inches. This stuff is pure magic.
After trying several loads of buckshot, including other flight control, this was the winner. I run this in a 20 inch barreled 870 with a Kicks Vortex Mod choke. The Vortex is made to be used with Federal Blackcloud that uses the same choke technology. I can get 5 out of 8 pellets on a 12 inch by 12 inch square at 50 yards.
4 to 6 inch pattern @ 16 yards and 10 inches @ 25 yards out of my 20 inch cylinder bore 870. Most buck is 1 inch/yard. The flight control wad really work.
