Customer Reviews

I am really liking the newly designed projectile on this PPU 10mm Jacketed hollow point ammo. Lowsest price online that I could find for this ammo too and from my most trusted supplier, SG Ammo you guys rock !
Can't say enough nice things about this ammo. I use it for bowling pin shoots, and it feeds and functions reliably in a variety of 1911s, including offerings by Colt, Kimber, Nighthawk, and Dan Wesson. It is a soft shooting round that, when combined with a heavy, purpose built 10mm gun, results in a very flat shooting, fast handling round with minimal perceived recoil and plenty of energy to clear a bowling pin from the table. I've also recovered a few rounds, and at least on bowling pins, they expand quite admirably. They are by no means at the bleeding edge of what 10mm is capable of, and I do not use them in my woods carry gun because rutting Elk are pretty dense and I don't think they would have much penetration through that much meat and bone. But on the other hand, they are a lot less likely to over-penetrate if used defensively on two legged predators, and they are near-ideal for bowling pin competition.
Same as shooting 40 S&W. Good for practice firing and getting brass cases for reloading.
My G20 doesn't like any Underwood JHP ammo. I don't get stove pipes but FTF one in about 30 rounds. It never jams with Underwood FMJ or Hard Cast. I'd estimate over 1,000 rounds or Underwood in total. I ran 50 rounds of Prvi PartizanJHP today. No issues but I agree, it was a very tame recoil. No problem for range and practice ammo.
My G40 MOS runs flawlessly with vortex venom and suppressor height sights on it ( the extra weight on the slide does affect lighter load cycling ). Using this ammo no problem so as their other 170gr FMJ. However it's dirtier than US made ammo yet less expensive for obvious trade off. Its also good to go with Osprey 45 can although you shouldn't use HP bullets in suppressor with a bit more room between .40 and .45ACP it's smooth, no baffle strikes.
These are good for range practice and for someone who wants a light load for a 10mm. I’ve had no trouble with about 500 rounds in both a Glock 20 and 29.
PPU has always been good range ammo in other calibers. However, I have a new Glock 40 MOS that will regularly stovepipe about two rounds per magazine. It will run 100 per cent on Underwood and Silvertips. I am guessing the batch I got are borderline underpowered for my 10mm Glock. Maybe some other Glock 40 owners can try a box or two and report their results. Underwood ammo has generally about twice the felt recoil as the PPU hollow points. PPU advertises around 469 muzzle energy, Underwood around 800 plus.
