These are vastly superior to CCI in power and at close range. When I want to kill ground squirrels and red squirrels, these are quiet and perfect at about 15 feet. I've had the CCI parabolic cap actually shelter the animal from the shot at 15 feet, so I need crimped brass 22LR. Works great in old handguns and bolt action rifles. Can't find them anywhere in the world and I'm out of them just when the little pests are emerging in Spring, dammit.

The crimped .22 LR rounds like these and Federal are great snake charmers in a S&W 317 w/ 3" bbl. I load 3 #12 shot shells and 5 36g HP in the chamber and index the cylinder for the shot shells to come up. They cover most rattlesnake and copperhead heads at about 4 ft. Like Brylcreme, "a little dab will do you" or in this case the snake. (Revealed my age, huh?) If an armadillo presents, the cylinder is re-indexed. S&W and Ruger cylinders turn counter clockwise and Colts turn clockwise. Have had CCI plastic cup shot shells back out of a revolver and prevent the cylinder from turning. Doesn't happen with the crimped shells.

I think these actually give a much tighter pattern than the CCI's. they still won't recycle my browning buck mark but neither will the CCI's. I shoot bumble bee's out of the shy with these and they appear to be a bit more powerful than the CCI plastic cap. the bumble bee's certainly don't like them. I can't find these in 38 cal. only the CCI's. wish I could.

I used these on my revolver S&W stainless Steel 7 shot and worked well. I thought there would be a problem with a cylinder to fire thru but no side blast nor blow blast coming out the sides where the cylinder meets the barrel. I love my revolver for easy use and no jam potential risk in a fire fight.Plus, cocking an automatic is loud and can be heard far away by perpetrator whereas a revolver is silent giving no sound alert away. thanks Winchester for making this ammo for home defense, too.

These little shells are good and I can't understand why they're so hard to fine of late. For someone who isn't the best shot, I feel more confident when using them. Not being a great shot is key because if I miss with a regular shell, who knows how far it might travel before it hits a solid object or just what that object might be. Also, it isn't my intention to kill anybody but I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger with 'gentle'er' ammo if threatened. I live alone and in an isolated area. I need these little shells.
