10 Round Box - CCI 40 Cal SW Pest Control Shotshell 3/16 OZ Number 9 Shot - 3740

bought four boxes of these and really didn't know what to expect. I am not sure how many pellets are in each round, but at 30 feet 8 of them made a mark on a 12 X 18 reduction target. The closest one to the bull's-eye was about three inches away. The pattern tightened up significantly at 15 feet with three pellets hitting the bull's-eye and about five pellets within the first two rings. I would feel comfortable firing at and heavily wounding anything squirrel-sized or smaller at 20 feet. I have never used scattershot from a pistol before and am merely relating how these rounds behaved. I only fired five of them, but they were fairly consistent. I imagine these would be handy against dangerous snakes at very close range when a shotgun or .22 rifle isn't available. They do add versatility to my SIG p320. If I still lived in Louisiana, I would certainly keep a few of these rounds in my pocket for emergencies.
