Just got this SCAR 20. It will eventually replace the AR-10T and M1A as the .308 semi-auto "first grab". Especially with the following results. Keep in mind, the barrel isn't broken in yet, but early results are stellar accuracy wise. The 3 recommended rounds from my SF buddies (who shoot for a living) were IMI RazorCore ($.80/rd), HSM 168gr Match ($1.00/rd), and Federal Gold Medal Match($.90/rd) With the rifle in the sled (taking me out of it) each of these rounds were .8 MOA shooters in 10 rd strings at 100M. They all chrono'd within 20-30 FPS of each mfg. group in a 10 shot string as well. They all went about 2600fps. Barrel was cleaned after each 10 shot string. Absolute sleeper was the HSM at almost 1/2" MOA consistently. Right with it was the FGMM and the IMI at .6 to .8". Each round was concentricity checked per box and the heaviest 10 rounds were culled out of the box. Best 10 out of 20. My results, report yours.
Got to the range and fired a 4 shot group, I had 10 different loads to shoot that day, so only had time to shoot that one group. From my RRA with a 20in BBL, I got a group that measured 0.94 inches. One round look a bit out so if I call that a flyer, the group goes to 0.63in. So I am going to get a bit more of this.
just got into 7.62 w/ a ruger precision rifle imi 168 .85 @200m fed 168 bthpm .94 @200m sig bthpm .95 @200m jra m-14 imi 168 1.25 @200m lc lrbthpm 1.84 @200m imi shoots great no malfunctions about .88 cents a round with shipping works for me i don't reload so this stuff is great not any dirtier than any other stuff a better shot with better equipment can get the same hole shots but not me so good luck bottom line it works great
From: Stonecold 4-16-2018 I have shot tens of thousands of rounds of 7.62 NATO ammo in the last 40-years....this 168-grain Semi-Auto Match ammo from IMI is the best performing 7.62 NATO I have used. It is a one-hole wonder...and with the neighbors that Israel has, no wonder it’s so good. Accurate, flawless function, and clean burning, you will not be disappointed. I plan to buy as much as I can afford, and will always buy from SGAMMO....they have the best prices and fast, secure shipping. Way to go Sam!!!
I shoot IMI M80 constantly, so switching over to try IMI 168 gr. OTM, I was definitely looking forward to checking out it's performance! I generally hand-load all my "Match" ammo. The IMI 168, OTM was amazingly accurate. It's definitely "MATCH!" ammo in every respect! I was only able to paper punch and static shoot out to 300 meters, unfortunately, the long range was closed. However, the ammo did not disappoint one bit. The loads were certainly hotter than anticipated, but definitely burned nice & clean. When I pushed out to 300 meters, my 3 groupings of 3, averaged 1.13" (minutes). I would definitely consider that a success. I would certainly recommend this ammo to those shooting LR (static or moving) Target! Thanks SG Ammo. Your selection, prices and customer service, will definitely have me coming back. Thanks for keeping the prices on the ammo, especially bulk ammo, fair and affordable, and not trying to screw the consumers over, by jacking up the prices. SG is definitely my go to for all my ammo needs!
I got sub moa groups in my Galil Ace with this ammo. It is nice stuff.
Is 168gr to heavy for a 16" 1 in 11 twist AR-10? I'm not sure if the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) use SCAR-H/17 witch has a 16" 1 in 12 twist. The SCAR 17 is considered the best battle rifle in the world today and is used by US SOCOM Forces.
Israeli FGMM. If your looking for a mil spec variant of the Federal flagship accuracy load, this is it. It isn't *quite* as accurate, but its pretty darn close. the OAL is also shorter, so it will feed from a Magpul magazine.
